Draymond Green has been listed as day-to-day with a rest issue after Golden State limited him to about 20 minutes in Tuesday's preseason game against the Lakers. He will not travel with the team to Portland and is out for Wednesday's back-to-back preseason game against the Trail Blazers.

What happened

Golden State listed Draymond Green as day-to-day Wednesday with a rest issue. The 36-year-old forward-center was limited to around 20 minutes in Tuesday's preseason game against the Lakers, and the Warriors will not have him travel to Portland for Wednesday's back-to-back against the Trail Blazers. Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reported the restriction. No previous status was listed for Green before this report.

What it means for the Warriors

Golden State is 0-0 since the 2026-27 season has not started, and Wednesday's game at the Trail Blazers (10 p.m. ET, NBA TV) is the back half of a preseason back-to-back on the road. Green averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 27.5 minutes across 68 games last season. With him out, and with Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody also sidelined, minutes should shift to Jonathan Kuminga, Kristaps Porzingis, Brandin Podziemski and De'Anthony Melton, who played 23.8, 23.7, 28.5 and 23.0 minutes, respectively, in games without Green. There is no regular-season record with or without him yet.

What to watch

Golden State's next injury report will show whether Green's rest day extends past Wednesday. His expected return is listed as Oct. 10, which would put him back ahead of any preseason games beyond the Portland back-to-back. Watch the same report for updates on Stephen Curry and Al Horford, both also listed day-to-day, as the Warriors manage the roster into the regular season.

Is Draymond Green playing at the Trail Blazers tonight?

When will Draymond Green be back?

His expected return is listed as Oct. 10, according to the injury report.
