Milwaukee dropped to 1-2 in the preseason after trailing by 24 points in a 90-105 loss at Charlotte on October 11. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the Bucks have eight days to cut their roster to 15 for the regular season, a deadline now looming over a camp still sorting its youngest pieces.

Oct. 11 at Charlotte

Charlotte built a 24-point lead and the Bucks never closed it, falling 90-105. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Taylor Jenkins opened the fourth quarter with Tyler Herro, Gary Trent, Kevin Porter, Kyle Kuzma and Myles Turner still down 22, chasing the kind of finish that won Game 2 in Oklahoma City. It never came.

Who didn't play

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Ousmane Dieng logged his second DNP of the preseason and that Kasparas Jakucionis sat for the second time in three games, after saying before the Minnesota game that he was healthy. Brayden Burries also did not play; his day-to-day coach's-decision tag, posted October 11, carries an estimated return of October 14.

This week

Milwaukee closes its preseason slate at home against Chicago on October 14, then finishes the trip at Indiana on October 16. The regular-season opener follows October 21 at Washington, with Chicago back on the home schedule October 23. The Bucks are 1-2 in exhibition play after wins at Oklahoma City and losses to Minnesota and Charlotte.

The roster clock

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the Bucks have eight days to trim their roster to the regular-season limit of 15. Johni Broome already replaced John Butler this month, and Caris LeVert started ahead of Trent in Charlotte. Payroll sits at $191.4 million, over the cap but under the $200.4 million tax line — money is not the constraint, roster math is.

Next Milwaukee's next game is October 14 at home against the Bulls, the last tune-up before the regular-season opener October 21 at Washington.
When do the Bucks play next?

Milwaukee hosts the Chicago Bulls on October 14, then closes the preseason at Indiana on October 16 before opening the regular season October 21 at Washington.

Why didn't Ousmane Dieng and Kasparas Jakucionis play against Charlotte?

Neither carries a reported injury; Dieng logged his second DNP of the preseason and Jakucionis sat for the second time in three games after saying he was healthy before the Minnesota game.
