Tonight's test. Minnesota visits the United Center tonight, 49-33 last season with a plus-3.1 net rating. Anthony Edwards averaged 28.8 points a night last season and leads a roster missing Donte DiVincenzo, sidelined with a right Achilles issue. Both clubs are resting the same amount of time before tipoff.

Who's trending back. Isaac Okoro, Tobe Awaka and Zach Collins are all targeted to return tonight, Okoro from an undisclosed issue, Awaka from a knee, Collins from a right toe. Nic Claxton's hamstring keeps him out longer, with a target date of October 21 against Toronto.

Sellers cleared. Jaylin Sellers, who scored 10 points off the bench against Milwaukee, was upgraded from day-to-day to cleared this week. He adds depth to a bench that nearly matched the starters' scoring output in that win.

Bench holds its own. Chicago's starters scored 66 points against Milwaukee, the bench 59. Leonard Miller led the reserves with 18 points and 7 rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting, plus a plus-20 mark in 19 minutes, the best on either roster.

Around the beat. The Sun-Times' Joe Cowley wrote this week that the Bulls want Jalen Smith to keep spacing the floor, and separately that Noa Essengue is looking to prove he can play more physically. ESPN highlighted Caleb Wilson's alley-oop from the Milwaukee win.

A report worth noting. Hoops Rumors' Central Notes column grouped the Bulls' injury situation with Collins and other names this week, dated October 14, but added no new detail beyond what the team has already disclosed on Okoro, Awaka and Collins.
