Oklahoma City confirmed rookie guard Otega Oweh ruptured his right Achilles and is done for the season, a sharp jump from the day-to-day tag he carried one day earlier. The Thunder, coming off a 114-112 preseason win over Indiana, play at Houston tonight with four regulars still carrying their own day-to-day tags.

Oweh's Season Over

Oweh's tag moved from day-to-day to out as hoopsrumors confirmed a right Achilles rupture that ends his season outright, a reversal from the lower-leg listing he carried just one day before. He was a rookie getting real preseason run, and Oklahoma City now leans on its perimeter depth without him for the rest of the year.

Four Tags, One Night

Chet Holmgren, Thomas Sorber, Jaylin Williams and Ajay Mitchell all list an estimated return of today, covering a quadriceps, a knee, a heel and simple rest. None carries a reported clearance yet, so how Oklahoma City's rotation looks at Houston depends on how each of the four tests out before tipoff.

Rockets Bring Rest

Houston enters on four days off against a Thunder team playing its second game in three nights, the 114-112 win over the Pacers still fresh. Ime Udoka's club went 52-30 last season and brings back Kevin Durant, Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson, though Durant, Sengun, Fred VanVleet and Steven Adams are all day-to-day of their own tonight.

Is Otega Oweh out for the season?

Yes. Oklahoma City listed him out with a right Achilles rupture, ending his rookie season.

When do the Thunder play the Rockets?

Oklahoma City visits Houston tonight, Oct. 15, in a preseason game on NBA TV.
