De'Anthony Melton remains day-to-day on the Warriors' injury report after playing in Saturday's 111-106 preseason win over the Kings, where he went scoreless on six shot attempts. The guard heads into Tuesday's game at the Lakers with no new designation and no return timeline attached to his name.
What happened
The Warriors listed De'Anthony Melton as day-to-day in the injury report issued Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11:30 p.m. ET, the same status he carried before the game, with no specific detail attached. Melton played through it, finishing the 111-106 preseason win over the Kings scoreless on 0-for-6 shooting, including 0-for-1 from three, with two rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal. Five days earlier, on Oct. 7, he had also been listed day-to-day, tied then to rest and other reasons. No expected return date has been announced for him.
What it means for the Warriors
Golden State's next game is Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the Lakers, at 10 p.m. ET on NBA TV. The 2026-27 season has not started, so the Warriors are 0-0 with no record split yet to show how they fare with or without Melton. Last season he averaged 12.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 23.0 minutes across 49 games. If his workload is managed, the backcourt and wing minutes in the rotation belong to Stephen Curry (30.9 minutes), Brandin Podziemski (28.5) and Jonathan Kuminga (23.8), with Moses Moody (25.7) and Jimmy Butler III (31.1) also in that mix, though the same injury report lists Moody out with a left knee issue and Butler out with a right knee issue.
What to watch
No expected return has been announced for De'Anthony Melton, and no further detail has been attached to his day-to-day tag. The next injury report will show whether his status changes before Tuesday's game at the Lakers. From there, Golden State's schedule moves into the games that will open its 2026-27 season.
