Finale Closes at 89-116

Oklahoma City closed its preseason slate October 15 with an 89-116 loss at Houston, Jalen Williams scoring 18 and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 17. The result leaves the regular-season record at 0-0, with the exhibition schedule now finished and the Thunder set to open for real October 20 at San Antonio on NBC and Peacock.

Two New Names on the Report

Cason Wallace and Nikola Topic joined the injury report October 16 — Wallace with an undisclosed issue, Topic with a back problem — neither yet cleared to play. Ajay Mitchell, who held that same uncertain status, was cleared on the same day. Chet Holmgren's quadriceps, Jaylin Williams' heel and Thomas Sorber's right knee remain unresolved, and Otega Oweh is out for the season with a torn right Achilles.

Five Days to San Antonio

The Thunder have five days before the opener, their longest break since camp started. Sam Presti's roster goes into that stretch with Holmgren, Jaylin Williams, Sorber, Wallace and Topic all still pending — the question now is how many of the five clear before tipoff at San Antonio.

Is Otega Oweh playing for the Thunder this season?

No, he is out for the season with a torn right Achilles tendon, a loss reported October 15.

When do the Thunder play again after the preseason?

October 20 at the Spurs on NBC and Peacock, the start of the regular season.
