A Rest Advantage, Not a Health One
Golden State gets more rest than the Lakers tonight, but its two longest-term absences still outlast anything on Los Angeles' injury list.
The only change logged since the loss at the Clippers is Alex Toohey's clearance from the injury list. Golden State now gets a full day of rest before facing a Lakers team playing the second night of a back-to-back with four players listed day-to-day.

What actually changed
In the last day and a half, the only roster move logged was Alex Toohey going from day-to-day back to cleared. Everything else about camp holds where it was over the weekend: Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody are both still ruled out, and Stephen Curry's new two-year extension, finalized September 25, still carries no reported salary or option terms.
The schedule tilts Golden State's way
Los Angeles arrives on the second night of a back-to-back, its second straight game away from home with no rest day in between. Golden State got a full day to recover after the loss at the Clippers in the preseason opener. JJ Redick's roster also lists four players day-to-day: Austin Reaves (ankle and leg), Walker Kessler (finger and arm), Collin Sexton and Arthur Kaluma, both with lower-body issues. Any of the four could sit tonight.
Golden State's gaps run longer than the Lakers'
None of Los Angeles' absences has a firm return date, but all four are day-to-day. Golden State's two are measured in months: Butler is out until January 2, 2027, Moody until December 1. Charles Bassey and Brandon Williams, both reserves, scored 12 and 11 points respectively in the opener against the Clippers, a glimpse of who absorbs those missing minutes until Butler and Moody are back.
What's still open
Curry's two-year extension is finalized, but no salary or option terms have been reported since September 25. Until that detail surfaces, the full shape of next summer's books is still a guess.
Is Kristaps Porzingis playing against the Lakers tonight?
No. Porzingis has not been with the team since late September and no timetable has been given for his return.
When are Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody expected back?
Butler is not expected back until January 2, 2027, and Moody is not expected back until December 1, 2026.
