Jaden McDaniels remains day-to-day with a rest issue, the same tag the Minnesota Timberwolves gave him before he was ruled out of Saturday's game against the Miami Heat. He carries that status into Monday's game at the Knicks, with no new detail and no return date announced.
What happened
The Timberwolves listed Jaden McDaniels as day-to-day on Monday, Oct. 12 at 7:10 p.m. ET, the same designation he carried in Saturday's report. The issue is rest; no further detail was given. The injury report noted McDaniels had been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Miami Heat because of rest. His tag has not moved from day-to-day to a more specific label, and the Timberwolves have not announced an expected return date for him.
What it means for the Timberwolves
Minnesota is at the Knicks on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV. Last season McDaniels averaged 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 31.7 minutes across 73 games, production the Timberwolves would miss on the wing. If he sits, the minutes have gone to Anthony Edwards (35.0 min, 28.8 pts), Julius Randle (33.0 min, 21.1 pts), Rudy Gobert (31.3 min, 10.9 pts), Ayo Dosunmu (28.9 min, 14.4 pts), Naz Reid (26.1 min, 13.6 pts) and Kyle Anderson (19.1 min, 4.6 pts) in games without him. The Timberwolves are 0-0, with the 2026-27 season not yet underway, so there is no record yet with or without him.
What to watch
The next injury report will come ahead of Minnesota's game at the Knicks on Monday night. No expected return date has been announced for McDaniels' rest issue. He was in the same day-to-day state in Saturday's report, when he was ruled out against Miami, so his participation Monday depends on the next update closer to tip-off. The Timberwolves also list Donte DiVincenzo out with a right Achilles issue on the same report.
Is Jaden McDaniels playing vs the Knicks on Monday?
